Incoterms are not shipping jargon; they are the allocation of cost and risk between you and your supplier, and they decide who does the work we are describing on this site.
Under FOB you control the ocean leg and the clearance, which means you control the timeline. Under CIF your supplier books the freight and you inherit whatever carrier and routing they chose. Under DDP the supplier is nominally handling everything, which sounds convenient right up to the point where a Bangladeshi assessment query needs answering by someone who is not in the country.
Our advice for regular importers is FOB or FCA, so the leg that happens here is run by people who are here.
