Duty paid on time, even when the transfer is not.

Duty on a single container can exceed the value of a month’s freight, and it is payable before release — not after you have sold the goods. Where a payment window and a free-time window do not line up, we advance the duty from our own funds and recover it with your final invoice.

This is a credit facility, so it is offered on agreed terms and a percentage of the amount advanced. What it buys is days of demurrage you would otherwise pay for nothing.

What you get

  • Release not held up by a banking day
  • Demurrage and detention avoided outright
  • One invoice at the end, not a scramble mid-clearance

How it runs

  1. Facility approval

A limit is agreed once, against your trade history, rather than negotiated per consignment.

  2. Assessment received

The assessed duty figure is confirmed from the Bill of Entry.

  3. Payment

Duty, VAT and AIT are paid on the day, from our funds.

  4. Recovery

The advance and the facility charge appear on your final consignment invoice.

Questions we get asked

A percentage of the amount advanced, agreed in the facility letter. The quote wizard shows the current rate applied to your consignment.

Tell us what is shipping. We will tell you what it costs to clear.

Four questions about your consignment and you get an indicative breakdown of our charges and the duty to expect — before you speak to anyone.
