What is in the consignment?

The load type sets our fee. The invoice value sets the duty. Neither has to be exact yet.

Load type

20' FCL Container One full 20-foot box. 40' FCL Container One full 40-foot or high-cube box. LCL / Groupage Part container, priced on volume at the CFS. Air Cargo Consignment Priced on chargeable weight at the air cargo complex. Express / Courier Consignment Small express shipment under simplified declaration.

FCL is a container to yourself. LCL and air freight share space with other shipments and price per package.

Commodity Describe it the way your supplier does. We turn that into a tariff classification.

What importers ask us first

What does a C&F agent actually do?

We stand between you and everyone your cargo has to pass: customs, the port authority, the shipping line and the carrier. That means classifying the goods, filing the declaration, answering assessment queries, paying duty, collecting the delivery order and arranging the transport out.

How long does clearance take?

Air consignments can be released the same day where the assessment is straightforward. Sea consignments typically run 24 to 48 hours from document receipt, plus whatever the assessment adds. A valuation query or a physical inspection extends that, and we tell you the day it happens rather than at the end.

What documents do you need from me?

For an import: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, LC copy where applicable, certificate of origin, insurance certificate, and your IRC and BIN certificates. Each service page lists exactly what that service needs.

How is your fee calculated?

A per-consignment agency fee scaled by load type, plus documentation and port-handling coordination, plus anything extra you ask for — transport, warehousing, a duty advance. The quote wizard shows the full breakdown before you talk to anybody.

Can you pay the duty for me?

Yes, on an agreed facility. We advance the duty from our own funds and recover it with your final invoice, charging a percentage of the amount advanced. It exists because a release held up by a banking day costs more in demurrage than the facility does.

What happens if customs values my goods above my invoice?

We contest it, with comparable import evidence for the same HS code and period. The usual advice is to clear under protest first so the cargo moves, then run the appeal — demurrage accrues faster than any appeal moves.

Do you handle land border trade?

No. This desk is airport and seaport based — the air cargo complex and the seaports. We would rather tell you that up front than take a consignment we are not stationed for.

How do I know where my consignment stands?

Every consignment gets a reference. Enter it on the tracking page and you see the full clearance trail, what is still ahead, and how much carrier free time is left before detention starts.
